Privacy
There is no telemetry. History lives in a SQLite file on the machine running Seras.
What stays on your machine
| Data | Where |
|---|---|
| History, favorites, progress, collections | ~/.config/seras/seras.db |
| Web accounts and sessions | same DB; Argon2id passwords, hashed session tokens |
| Poster cache | ~/.cache/seras/images/ |
| Log | $XDG_STATE_HOME/seras/seras.log |
Play-session IP logging is off unless you set stats_log_ips. GeoIP, if you enable it, is an offline MaxMind file you supply. This website is static HTML and sets no cookie.
What leaves, and when
- AniList — search, trending, details. They see the query.
- Stream providers you enabled — browse and play. They see your IP, same as opening their site.
- TMDB / OMDb — only if you put API keys in config.
- TVmaze — only if you enable it in Settings → Plugins.
- Notifiers — only if you configure Discord, Telegram, ntfy, or a webhook.
Those sites see your IP the same as if you opened them in a browser. A VPN is the usual fix if you care. Fonts on this website are files here, not a CDN.
